Betway are one of the companies that have really snuck up on the industry over the last 5 years or so. They’ve in fact been in operation since 2006, but it could be argued that it’s taken them a few years to really establish themselves on the map in terms of online gambling at least.
Throughout this review we will be looking at how Betway have managed to cement their foothold in one of the four major gambling sectors.
Upon registering a new account with Betway, you’ll be able to take advantage of their free bet offer. The promotion is a 100% match on your opening deposit, paid out as a free bet worth up to £30.
To activate the promotion you must first place a bet worth the same as your opening deposit at odds of 1.75 or greater. The free bet will then hit your account pretty much immediately for you to use as you wish. You will get 7 days in which to use the full amount of the free bet before it expires. All you need to do is paly through your free bet amount and any winnings from that bet just once to qualify for a withdrawal.
Both Teams to Score, 20% Special
Simply place a 4 team or more acca, all Both Teams to Score selections, and if that bet comes in then Betway will give you a 20% bonus on top of your winnings. The maximum free bet that will be paid out is £200, with the minimum being that of £5. Only winning tickets will apply to this promo and can only include football matches. Combined odds must be 5.00 or greater and free bet will be credited within 48 hours of the bet settling.
Football Acca Insurance
If you place a 5-fold Win-Draw-Win acca with Betway and just one team of that bet lets you down, Betway will refund your stake up to a maximum od £25. Bets must be placed at minimum odds of 5.0 and any bets that are cashed out will not count towards the promotion. Free bets are settled within 48 hours of the tie being completed.
Horse Racing Outsider Special
If you place a bet on a horse race and that horse finishes second to a horse with starting price of 10/1 or higher, then Betway will refund your stake up to £25. The bets can only be made on the outright winner market and refunds will be paid out in the form of a free bet.
Betting Odds and Markets
Betway’s pricing structure has always been one that’s at worst, competitive. Over the years they’ve been renowned for offering up some insane pricing on top sporting events such as the Grand National, World Cup and Cheltenham Festival. A quick comparison with a few markets on Oddschecker.com has highlighted that they are pretty much always within the top 10 bookies, and even with the limited markets that we tested, were top priced for 2 of the 20 bets.
The range and number of markets that Betway now offer has grown exponentially over the last couple of years. Again, like most UK facing bookmakers, the emphasis is largely on football and horse racing, but outside of those two you’re getting a good range from golf, tennis, darts, cricket, basketball and volleyball, to name but a few.
As you’d expect for any top betting brand, Betway’s sportsbook is fully accessible via your mobile device. There is no official download of the app for either iOS or Android users, but if you simply type the URL of the bookmaker into your smartphones browser, then you will automatically be redirected to the mobile friendly page.
The in-play betting section at Betway has been an area that’s greatly improved over the last couple of years. Gone are the drab number of games on show and the utterly dull design, being replaced by hundreds of markets to bet on around the clock and a design to rival even the best in the industry.
At Betway casino you will be able to claim up to £1,000 in free bonus money when you register a new account. The promotion is broken down into three deposits. The first deposit is a 100% match up to £250. The second is a 25% match up to £250 and the third is a 50% match up to £500. So, in order to make the full bonus quota you will need to make three deposits of £250, £1,000 and £1,000, in that order.
The promotion will need to be claimed within 7 days of opening your account, basically meaning that you need to make your first deposit within that time. You will then need to wager through each of the deposits 50 times before being able to withdraw. It’s worth noting that not all games carry the same weight in terms of clearing percentage. Slots and all Parlor games will count 100%, table poker, roulette, video poker and all blackjacks (except classic blackjack) will count 8%. Classic blackjack and craps will not count towards clearing your bonus.
Triple Plus Points
Each week Betway casino will offer up a timeframe where they will be providing triple points on there casino games. The times and sates each week will vary, but you can easily check this out on their website. The games will also vary, but usually include a couple of slots and variant of a table game as well. For example, this week just so happens to be Bridesmaids slot, Titans of the Sun and Live Blackjack. Once you have racked up 5,000 points you’ll be able to redeem £10 worth of bonus from the Betway store.
Software and Games
The Betway software provider is that of Microgaming, who just so happen to be one of the biggest providers in the industry. The software can be used on a download or a browser based version direct from both Mac and Windows compatible PC’s. It’s also worth noting that you can access the casino via their mobile section, simply by visiting it through your smartphones browser.
Betway probably have one of the biggest arrays of table games that we have seen. In total you are getting 9 variants of roulette, 44 (!) variants of blackjack and 17 miscellaneous table games, which include Hold’em High Gold Series, 3 Card Poker, High Speed Poker, Craps, Baccarat and Sic Bo.
The slots section is equally impressive with an astonishing 420 titles to choose from. What we will say is that some do range in terms of quality, but with so many being on show, there’s always going to be something that grabs your eye. Again, some of the bigger titles are Avalon II, Thunderstruck II, Jurassic Park, Tomb Raider, Game of Thrones and of course, Mega Moolah.
The progressive section is again impressive, and as mentioned the king of the progressives is on show in Mega Moolah. You’re getting about 20 or so titles to choose from, each with ranging jackpots, with most hitting upwards of 7 figures.
At Betway you’ll be able to claim a £30 deposit bonus when you make your first deposit of just £10 in their bingo hall. The offer is essentially a 300% match on any deposit between £5 and £10. You will need to make your deposit with 7 days of opening your account and then the bonus will hit your account within 24 hours.
You will need tow ager through your bonus 4 times before being able to withdraw and with this you get a 30 day time limit to complete. Any remaining balance that hasn’t been cleared within this timeframe will be removed from your account.
This offer is the same as the casino one where you can pick up triple the points on certain games and certain times from within their bingo room. The only difference is the time and the type of game you can play on. Again, the games will vary, especially being with bingo and it’s likely you will be asked to target certain bingo rooms. You’ll simply need to check out what’s happening and when on their website.
Software and Games
The software is once again provided my Microgaming for Betway and with this come aa good range of games and bingo rooms to play from. The usual suspects are all there such as 90, 80 and 75 ball bingo games along with a host of side games, ranging from slots to smaller versions of the table games that are on offer within the casino.
Don’t forget that you can access the Betway bingo hall via your smartphone by simply visiting the site in your mobile browser.
At poker room from Betway you will be able to claim a 200% deposit bonus on your opening deposit worth up to £750. The match will mean that to claim the full amount you only need to deposit £375, this will then trigger your £750 bonus into your account.
The bonus will be released in increments of 1% of your total bonus about. You will need to 100 poker points for every $1.50 of your bonus and you will have 60 days in which to clear the full amount.
£9,000 for New Players
As a new player at Betway’s poker room you will be able to take advantage of over £9,000 worth of free rolls to enter. You can enter six weekly £1,000 guaranteed and six weekly £500 guaranteed new player turbo tournaments. Whilst freerolls aren’t always the easiest games to win, you will at least get a chance to try out the software for free.
Software and Games
As you might have guessed, Betway have continued their affiliation with Microgaming to run their poker software. With this comes a huge network of players for Betway punters to play against, but what’s probably most important is the ability to get games around the clock, especially outside peak traffic times.
The software can be played as either a download format or simply from your browser using instant play. If you like, you can also play via your mobile by simply visiting the poker room on your smartphone and you will be able to pay the mobile optimised version.
The games on offer are all pretty standard in that you get Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Stud and also Microgamings new Blaze poker and anonymous tables.
Betway have been around since 2006 and in that time have managed to come from a completely nobody in the gambling business to a respected company these days. What’s been interesting to see about a company such as Betway is how they have gone about developing their brand. Where most companies would initially shy away from major outlays such as event sponsorship, Betway dived straight in with this tactic and it was one that worked.
These days they tend to focus their marketing products on boxing, darts, football, snooker, tennis, horse racing and even eSports. Their biggest sponsorship deal came about in 2015 when it was announced that they would sponsor the Premier League outfit, West Ham United in a deal reportedly worth £20million over two and half years. Other notable sponsorship deals have been with the Premier League of Darts, boxing match between Carl Froch and George Groves at Wembley, UK championships in snooker and endless horse races across the UK.
Betway are based and licensed out of Malta and Guernsey. Over the years they have worked hard to provide a number of accreditations from within the industry including a member of the European Sports Security Association, the Independent Betting Adjuration Service and the Remote Gambling Association. They have also worked closely with the Professional Players Federation, who protects the livelihoods of professional sports people.
